I never thought I would be dedicating a whole post to a collection by Jill Stuart. However, her resort 2013 collection has me doing the formerly unthinkable. Something about the simplicity of the garments mixed with the androgyny of the model (Sojourner Morrell) seems to keep me looking. There's a femininity to the flirty ruffled peplum, gathered skirt, and soft pastel palette but it's foiled by the boyish cuts of the boxy shorts and T- shirt tops. It's a play with gender that I'm not so sure is completely intentional. Whether, intentional or not I'm surely enjoying it and hope to see more of this come September.
