Nautical Langauge

I love everything nautical and have been seeing more and more nautical flag inspired products and home decor everyday. Above are some examples of artist Jeff Canham's flags and pendents for The Standard Hotel and below are four of the 26 flags in the Wooden Nautical Flag Box Set from Best Made. I think these are both wonderful and have me inspired to make some nautical flags of my own. DIY soon to follow.

It's officially Summer so that means weekends in the Hamptons and sailing off the coast. I wish! Summer really means smelly New York streets and long days in an air condition-free studio. As they say, dress for the job you want, I say, dress for the vacation you want. Here's a few nautical finds appropriate for the summer I wish I could have.

These recycled sail bags are a part of a special collaboration between Sea Bags, a Maine-based company that makes a variety of different bags from reclaimed sail fabrics and J. Crew. These totes are great nautical carry-alls perfect for a trip to the beach.
