Penfield USA

I've been put on the record as stating that I will and always will hate puffy winter jackets. However, I think I have been proven wrong. I have found some puffy jackets that I don't even mind. Thanks to Massachusetts-based Penfield, I've finally change my point of view on the often hideous form of cold weather gear. It's the company's goal to combined "fashion, function, practicality and durability" in every design that makes their garments stylish and practical at the same time. I've pulled few of my favorite mens pieces (there are great women's pieces too but the model was just so plain Jane boring that I couldn't bear posting her face) many of which happen to be on sale! You can score any of these pieces and more at PenfieldUSA.com.

"Winter is a Time for Snuggling"

This month's issue of Martha Stewart Living feature some of these great knitting projects, perfect for working on by the warmth of a fire. I recently taught myself how crochet (with the help of this video) and was inspired to make a blanket simular to the one below ( I'll post my progress once things really start taking off) and I'm sure I'll end up making a matching pillow too. I suggest picking up this issue. There are plenty of other basic knitting projects and some great sandwich ideas too.

Winter Favorite: Plaid+Tartan Bags

(1) Ralph Lauren Buffalo Plaid Fishing Bag on sale for $229 (2) Ralph Lauren Tartan Large Duffle $895 also available in a medium size $695 (3) Dooney & Bourke Plaid Barrel Bag available in 7 different plaids $215 (4) Billy Kirk Plaid Large Carryall @ Need Supply Co. $295 (5) Brooks Brothers Buffalo Check Duffle on sale for $373.50
I may be stuck in the house because there is 2 feet of snow outside and more piling up every minute. However, when the snow stops I will be traveling again and I only wish I had a buffalo check duffle bag (5) to care along with me. These five tartan and plaid bags give classic fabrics a twist that is stylish and fun. The selection may be a little steep for a post-holiday wallet, but if yours can make the hike I suggest getting one of these bags today or as soon as the snow stops.

An Ensemble to Remember

US Weekly my have sent out the fashion police and Joan Rivers may have said big foot has finally met his match, but I think Kylie Minogue's Thanksgiving Day Parade ensemble is perfect. A pair of black knee high boots, bronze leather bag, knit turban and a Chanel Fall 2010 tweed and faux fur jacket complements the Australian pop stars age defying looks. This is the right way to stay warm while looking good.
